If you want to get in touch, my public email address is oliver at cpan dot org. I will respond promptly unless on vacation.
Originally from the North of England, I’m a geeky 30-something currently living near to Reading, in the UK. Married, with two cats and one temporary dog.
My professional fields of expertise are computer networks (global WANs, Metro networks across 250 sites with 50k+ users, high speed data centre LANs) and Linux systems (the usual bag of user-facing services such as DNS).
Spare time is currently spent snoozing in the conservatory or having a beer – a well earned break after a year when it was mostly occupied commuting by car. Otherwise I enjoy cycling off-road and other general outdoorsy activities which remind me of Yorkshire. Oh, I also hack a bit in Perl and tinker with networking at home.
Perl you say? Yes it’s still alive and kicking. No longer a part of my day job but still a comfortable place to play, with an awesome community. These two posts share my feelings pretty well.
